Why use Guideline Daily Amounts?

  • They help you make sense of the nutritional information provided on food labels.
  • They tell you (adults and children) the approximate amount of calories, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrate, total sugars, protein, fibre, salt and sodium required for a healthy diet.
  • They assist you in making appropriate dietary choices.

Nutritious Information

We know it’s important to think about what you’re eating, especially when you are feeding a growing family, that is why all our products are labeled with a combination of GDA and Traffic Light information.

Why?
The GDA and traffic light information helps you quickly identify the fat, saturated fat, salt and sugar content of a product. There are two simple steps, first the colour coding, this is based on traffic light colours: Green means a low content per 100g, Amber a medium content and Red a high content. The second is Guideline Daily Amounts (GDAs), these can be used to take the guesswork out of what you should be eating and make planning a healthy balanced meal much easier. All of this means that when shopping you can compare two products at a glance and go for the healthier one.

You'll find traffic lights and GDA information on the front of all our packs.
